Alice & Ellen (as in the Kessler twins) are a one-of-a-kind pair of lamps lovingly handcrafted from gorgeous, vintage, hand-painted Royal Tichelaar Makkum (the oldest ceramic company in the Netherlands, circa 1572), Delft style vases. They are paired with a custom contemporary lampshades in a soft sunny yellow satin, handmade in an atelier near Amsterdam.
The exquisite vases (or pul, jar with lid), which form the base of the lamp, were handmade and hand-painted by one of Royal Tichelaar Makkum’s master painters between 1940-60, as indicated by the marking on the bottom.
