Our Founder

Third generation Dutch, owner, designer, and curator Brooke Lutz, was born and raised in Washington, DC, and now makes her home in lovely Western North Carolina. She carries with her an extensive talent. Formally trained and previously a member of the Portrait Society of America, she is internationally recognized as a master of the verdaccio technique, rendering life-like, Renaissance-styled portraits. We invite you to visit: www.brooklutzportraits.com to learn more. As well as being a portrait artist, she studied Fashion Design and is a formally trained and former fashion model, and is adept at textile design, pattern making, garment design and construction, bead work, applique work, and silk embroidery. Her educational background is as broad as her talent as she studied at some of the finest universities in the south including Virginia Commonwealth University, James Madison University, Wake Forest University, and High Point University. Her repertoire stems from her extensive educational background in Fashion Design, Interior Design, and Fine Art, as well as Art and Elementary Education. Her creative talents combined with her vivid imagination and keen interest in the Dutch Golden Age, has produced an innovative concept in interior design.

“I love making people happy and I love making happy spaces! It’s the very essence of being Dutch! My passion for beautiful things and awe inspiring interiors, and my love for my family and friends, and everyone in between, has given me such a vision for Daffodils & Delft!”
