Tulip is a one-of-a-kind lamp lovingly handcrafted from a vintage, Charles Catteau vase designed in his workshop (Atelier de Fantaisie) at Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium.

Of course we know Belgium is not the Netherlands, but they are so close after all ; ) and we couldn’t resist such a wonderful work but this legendary master ceramist. Charles Catteau (1880-1966) was the most versatile and multi faceted art ceramist of his generation. He worked as a designer, teacher, chemist and artistic director at Boch Frères Keramis where he developed a completely unique body of artistic work, each of which has already become a collectors piece.

The lamp base is from 1941 (as indicated by the D779 marking on the bottom). It is a cracked enamel, polychrome design in a floral motif. We’ve paired it with a custom contemporary lampshade, in a sunny yellow linen, from an atelier near Amsterdam. A great lamp to bring some joy and color to your home on dark days!
